Garner Hotel La Porte – Bay Area Completes IHG Brand Conversion

LA PORTE, Texas — June 2026 — Lodging Host Hotel Corp. announced the completion of the conversion of the former Comfort Suites La Porte to the Garner Hotel La Porte – Bay Area, bringing IHG’s midscale Garner brand to the Houston-area market.

Located at 902 South 8th Street in La Porte, Texas, the 67-room property underwent a brand transition and renovation designed to provide guests with a refreshed, comfortable and value-focused lodging experience.

The conversion officially took effect in May 2026 and reflects Lodging Host’s continued focus on strengthening its managed portfolio through strategic brand positioning, property improvements and operational performance.

Garner hotels are designed around relaxed, flexible stays with an emphasis on comfortable accommodations, approachable service and the essentials today’s travelers value most.

The La Porte property is positioned to serve a broad mix of guests, including corporate travelers, industrial and project-related business, crews, leisure travelers and visitors to the greater Bay Area and Houston Ship Channel region.

The hotel’s location provides convenient access to area employers and industrial facilities as well as popular regional destinations including Sylvan Beach, Kemah Boardwalk and the greater Houston Bay Area.

The conversion followed months of planning, renovation and collaboration between ownership, Lodging Host Hotel Corp., the hotel’s property leadership and IHG.
